# remastero

> remastero makes PGGB — high-precision audio upsampling and remastering software for audiophiles. PGGB converts PCM and DSD audio files to higher sample rates at precisions up to 256 bits, using near-ideal reconstruction algorithms optimized to approach theoretical limits. Products include PGGB Plus (offline remastering), PGGB-RT (real-time foobar2000 plugin), and RASA (free audio spectrum analyser).

## Key Technical Concepts

- PGGB uses non-apodizing, near-ideal transition band filters for maximum reconstruction accuracy
- Precision levels: 64-bit (Normal), 107-bit (Chill), 128-bit (Insane), 256-bit (Ludicrous)
- Three DSD modulator groups: Low Noise (5th, 7th, 9th order), Very Low Noise (13th, 19th order), Ultra Low Noise (25th order)
- DSD reconstruction accuracy: audible band noise as low as -800dB at DSD2048 (25th order)
- PCM reconstruction accuracy: -740dB stop band attenuation at 256-bit
- Adaptive noise shaper and DSD modulators prevent quantization noise from limiting precision benefits
- Modulators are rate adaptive and order is adaptive for Very Low Noise and Ultra Low Noise groups
- Supports two-stage DSD conversion to reduce memory requirements
